Learn to sew your own Paradise Patterns Pine Raglan Sweatshirt in this hands-on workshop led by local sewist, knitter, and dye artist Paige Plihal. The Pine is a classic sweatshirt pattern with a relaxed, oversized fit, chunky crewneck, and raglan sleeves. It's the perfect project for refining your garment sewing skills, and to build confidence sewing with knit fabrics!
What you’ll learn:
- How to cut and work with knit/ terry fabrics
- Introduction to serging
- How to install neckbands and cuffs
- Tips for fit adjustments and finishing techniques
- Working with knits on the sewing machine
What’s included:
- 5 hours of instructional time in a small group setting
- Printed Paradise Pine Raglan pattern
- Recycled Cotton Terry Cotton and ribbing in color of your choice
- Use of a classroom sewing machine (you’re also welcome to bring your own*)
Who this class is for:
This class is designed for the advanced beginner. You should already be comfortable using a sewing machine and have completed a few simple projects such as a pillow, elastic-waist pants, or simple top. You should understand how to thread a machine, sew using a seam allowance, and be familiar with basic construction steps like hemming and pressing. Class is limited to 5 students.
**This project can be completed fully on the serger or sewing machine. You are welcome to bring either, however we do recommend a walking foot if working on a sewing machine.

Paige Plihal is a pattern maker, fiber artist, and educator with a passion for intentional making and creative exploration. With over 30 years of sewing experience and more than a decade in educational content strategy, she helps others build skills and confidence in fiber arts.
